Government Minister set to Retire

fabien Health minister and representative for the Grandbay constituency John Fabien, who turned 63 on Wednesday, will not seek re-election in the next general elections.

Minister Fabien said when he took over from former prime minister the late Pierre Charles it was always his intention to serve for a short period of time.

The Minister was hoping that the past year would be his last is office and someone would have taken over his position. However that was not the case and he would have to remain for the five years.

The Minister added

“I hope that the constituency branch can identify someone to replace me. I can’t stay here indefinitely I have to make room for fresh ideas and a new perspective on things,”

The Minister was keen to stress that he has no intention of resigning from government, he intends to serve his term but may not seek re-election
