By Michael D. • Jan 8th, 2008 • Category: NewsGeneral Manager of the DPPL Raymond Austrie said today, Dominica banana farmers will receive a price increase of 55 and 33 cents per box of bananas effective this week
Mr Austrie said

“it is a long awaited price increase, we have been lobbying that for some. It has come at this moment and we a very grateful for that”
Farmers will be paid 55 cents more per box for the Tesco loose, and 33 cents per box for the generic as well as the sealed boxes.
The increase in the price paid to farmers should encourage increased production in the banana industry this year.
