An earthquake measuring 4.6 in magnitude occurred off Martinique on Wednesday afternoon, disaster officials have confirmed.

According to the University of the West Seismic Unit at the St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago the earthquake was felt in St. Lucia as well as Scotts Head in Dominica and Antigua.

There have not been any reports of damage.

Several Caribbean were jolted last November 29 when a powerful 7.3 per cent earthquake centred 25 miles south of Dominica hit the islands, sending thousands of people scampering from shaking buildings.

That quake was felt in St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua & Barbuda, St Kitts & Nevis, Guadeloupe and Anguilla. There were also reports of tremors being felt as far south as Guyana on the South American mainland and as far north as Puerto Rico.
