That was the week that was.

The eagle eyed out there may have noticed that there were no updates on the site for the past week.

This was mainly due to other commitments keeping me from being able to do so. We are back on schedule this week and updates will be pouring in regularly.

So what did you miss?

The answer to this is mostly oil. Accusations flying back and forth between proponents of the refinery project (mainly the government) and their opponents ( WEF and Bernard Wiltshire ). Claims and counter claims, threats to sue and counter sue. Threats, lies, and EIAs. Minister Austrie threatened to sue Mr Whiltshire who claims the government lied about an EIA being done.

Meanwhile carnival celebrations are in earnest and we have Val Cuffy the eleventh hour supplicating for more carnival funding in the name of Jesus. Take a listen.

Daddy Chess won the Soca Monarch on Saturday night with the song “forward”.

The Chief medical Officer confirmed a case of TB at Domlec but assured Dominicans that workers there are being tested and there was no “outbreak” of the Disease.

And in sport Shane Marshall pocketed a whopping USD$25000 for a man of the match performance as Dominica thrashed the BVI in the Stanford Twenty20 tournament.
